The use of less water and pesticides is key as standard cotton uses a lot more water and in some cases pesticides chemicals that are harmful to the environment as they can get into rivers and local water supplies through the soil.

Organic farmers work with rather than against nature and use a range of natural techniques to support the growth of healthy cotton crops. They also grow food crops alongside the cotton crops to help feed the workers and people living in the villages around the cotton farms.
